The overarching aim of this course are:
- to review the formal open disclosure process and policies that are recommended within Queensland Health
- to clearly define the role of an Open Disclosure Consultant by outlining the purpose and key responsibilities of this role
- to explain how the Open Disclosure Consultant supports the formal open disclosure process during the preparation and facilitation of the formal meeting with the patient and/or their family
- to provide participants with the skills to plan and facilitate the formal open disclosure meeting with the patient and/or family.
