There are national standards systems that are currently in place within Metro North Hospital and Health Service.

  •

    National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS)

    The National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards provide a nationally consistent statement of the level of care consumers can expect from health service organisations.

    Clinical care standards

    A clinical care standard is a small number of quality statements that describe the care patients should be offered by health professionals and health services for a specific clinical condition or defined clinical pathway in line with current best evidence.

    National Standards for Disability Services (NSDS)

    These standards focus on person centred approaches and promote choice and control by people with disability. These are standards are considered critical under the National Disability Insurance Scheme.

  •

    Aged Care

    Organisations providing Commonwealth subsidised aged care services are required to comply with the Aged Care Quality Standards (Quality Standards). Organisations will be assessed and must be able to provide evidence of their compliance with and performance against the Quality Standards.
